Upstate New York has many charming small towns and cities and on our last road trip in the area, we drove down the main streets of many of them. And that is where, in one town, we found a small parking lot across the street from an old restaurant. The parking sign was a wonderful relic from the past so we just had to pull over and, well, park. The colour image is also available here for those who prefer colour photography. My passion for photography began when I was just eight years old and received an inexpensive Kodak camera as a gift. Many years and many cameras have come and gone but the passion has only grown. My speciality is Americana, particularly vintage signage. I'm always eager to hit the road in search of new discoveries, maybe an old diner or historic graveyard, perhaps a roadside motel or an abandoned drive-in.
