If not, put this documentary on your must-watch list; it's a fascinating look at the history of the iconic Tower Records, founded in Sacramento in 1960 by Russell Solomon. They've been closed for some time now, but the building that was built specifically to house the LA Tower Records store in 1970 still stands on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. It may not continue to stand though; Gibson Brands (of guitar fame) leased this Sunset Strip building and promised to preserve it, but since it recently filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection, the future of this landmark is definitely uncertain.
