Description
If you head down US 1 (Route 1) from Virginia into North Carolina, you will come to the small town of Manson not long after you cross the state line. As you leave Manson, you will find this old, abandoned gas station. On one side of the rusty sign, this side, you see Evans Gas; on the other side, you'll see American. The A. D. Evans convenience store that used to sell the Camel Lights and crushed ice is long gone. The American flag painted on the side is faded, but still remains.
This photograph was featured in JPG Magazine in April 2018 as Photo of the Week.
