Description
Sign preservation is important to me, so it was good news when this giant old googie neon sign, a landmark in Sante Fe Springs, California, was rescued and moved to the Valley Relics museum instead of being demolished. Premiere Lanes bowling alley had long been closed but this tall rusty sign stood for a long time and it was always feared that one day it would be sent to the scrap yard, which happens all too often with these gems from our collective history. Because that happens, I often say "shoot them while you can" because, truly, you never know when they will disappear. I wish this sign still stood on the street for all to enjoy, but I'm thankful it didn't become garbage.
