Artist's Description
This photograph I took in the Mennonite farming area of southern Ontario appears elsewhere in my gallery of photographs -- please check out my Canada gallery/collection to have a look -- but even after I processed the RAW file and posted it here, I kept returning to it, thinking this scene would make a beautiful painting. Since my painting skills are not good at all, I chose to create a digital painting instead, with a classic landscape look.

My passion for photography began when I was just eight years old and received an inexpensive Kodak camera as a gift. Many years and many cameras have come and gone but the passion has only grown. My speciality is Americana, particularly vintage signage. I'm always eager to hit the road in search of new discoveries, maybe an old diner or historic graveyard, perhaps a roadside motel or an abandoned drive-in.
