When you intend to cross from Canada to the US and pick up US Route 1 right where it begins, you'll find yourself in front of this sign in Clair, New Brunswick....the last neon sign before you cross over the bridge to the US border crossing in Fort Kent, Maine. It looked to me like the motel and restaurant are gone, but this gorgeous sign remains.

My speciality is Americana, particularly vintage signage. I'm always eager to hit the road in search of new discoveries, maybe an old diner or historic graveyard, perhaps a roadside motel or an abandoned drive-in.
