For decades, residents and visitors alike have visited Del's Freez on US 1 (Route 1) in Melbourne FL to enjoy their amazing soft-serve ice cream, milkshakes, and more. If you're in the area -- and hungry -- I recommend trying their banana split. Delbert Schmadel -- Del, The Ice Cream Man, The Sweetest Man In Town -- passed away in 2009, but Del's continues to serve wonderful treats, keeping the tradition going for future generations.

My passion for photography began when I was just eight years old and received an inexpensive Kodak camera as a gift. Many years and many cameras have come and gone but the passion has only grown. My speciality is Americana, particularly vintage signage. I'm always eager to hit the road in search of new discoveries, maybe an old diner or historic graveyard, perhaps a roadside motel or an abandoned drive-in.
